Summer!

This summer has been so busy and so fun! When MDO ended back in May, I remember thinking how relaxing summer would be. Little did I know, it would be busier than the school year. I can't believe that Ben will start kindergarten in less than 2 weeks. Where did the summer go?! Here are some of the things that kept us so busy this summer...

Playing tee ball

Going to the zoo

Twisting and turning at VBS

Playing outside

Playing with friends

Riding the golf cart at Grammy and Grandad's house

Swimming

Making silly faces

Playing in shaving cream

Creating and building

Riding the jeep at Pippi and Poppa's house

Climbing trees

Watching movies

Relaxing

Shopping

Moving to a new house

Sleeping in our new bunk beds (Luke's first time in a big boy bed)

Next week we are headed to the beach to conclude our summer fun! Then summer comes to an end and my baby starts kindergarten. Eek!

While Daddy's Away, The Boys Will Play

Daddy went out of town for a few days. So the boys and I had some fun while he was away. We started with forts and movies! The boys somehow managed to take apart their Pottery Barn chairs and use the pieces for a fort and pirate ships.

It was a pretty good idea until it was time to put them back together. Thank goodness I had a little help. :-)

Both boys were so good the entire time! Of course, I had to send Daddy some sleeping pics.

Ben slept with me in "the big bed" each night. He thought that was great!

We did a little swimming at a friend's house. These two boys love the water!

These cool cats were definitely excited to pick up Daddy!

Overall, it was a pretty good week. We are all glad that Daddy is home safe and sound!

Fourth of July

We started the week off with my niece, Abby, coming to stay with us. She came on Monday and the boys were so excited to see her! We went to the tubes at Rock Creek and then grabbed some lunch and headed home. The next day we had some friends come over to play. So what do you do with 5 kids on a summer day? Throw them in the car and head to the park.

Once we got home, we threw on our suits and headed to the backyard for water balloons, water guns, and the "water slide". It felt like it took 3 hours to fill the balloons and only 3 minutes to have the actual balloon fight. :-)

The boys played and laughed together as they ate some lunch.

That afternoon we piled in the car and headed to Grammy's house. The car was loaded...2 adults, 3 kids, 2 dogs, and a ton of luggage. We started off our time at Grammy's with a trip to the park. The weather has been so wonderful! It was 75 degrees in the car on the way to the park. These 3 laughed and giggled the whole time on the tire swing.

Of course it's not a trip to Grammy's without a few hundred rides in the golf cart. Luke is somewhat obsessed.

The Fourth of July was a day packed full of fun! It started with the annual golf cart parade through the neighborhood. The boys and Abby were so excited!

Check out this Duck Dynasty golf cart. Surely they won the prize!

The line up....

This is my favorite picture of the parade. Love my family! The boys had noise makers around their necks. I don't know who's idea that was, but I'm pretty sure they blew them the entire time.

The rest of the day included a family reunion, good long naps, some more swimming, and fireworks. Ben loved setting off his own fireworks. He would light it and run like a crazy person. Love that kid!

We had a great time at Grammy and Granddad's! Happy 4th of July!
