Weekend Rewind

After weeks of business with birthdays, trips to the parents' and all that surrounds Easter in a pastor's family, it was good to have a couple of days to just relax and do some fun things as a family.

Friday our church's preschool group went to the Zoo. Okay, so it was work-related, but still fun.

Ben and his best bud, Eli watching the Flamingos.

Ben and two of his favorite buddies - Eli and "Big" Luke, cruising around the zoo on the train.

Saturday morning we went to Hot Springs Village for a family reunion with some of Jenny's mom's family.

And the highlight of the weekend...Sadie's Birthday Party! We were so excited to celebrate our future daughter in-law's first birthday.

By this point in the afternoon, Luke had virtually no nap all day...still, he was a trooper.

Sadie's birthday cake. Her mom and grandmother did a terrific job with her party.

Sticky Tape

You know...as opposed to non-sticky tape...

Today I rode in to Little Rock and ran errands for work while Jenny and the boys went to Bible Study. Afterwards, when we were all in the car, we asked Ben what they talked about today. The
conversation went something like this:

Ben: "Way-uhl... (well has two syllables...sometimes three)...some bad men took Jesus and hung him with sticky tape."

Jenny: "With tape? Wow! Where did they hang him?"
Ben: "On the cross...with sticky tape. And they hit him."

Me: "Wow. Did it hurt him?"
Ben: "Yay-ess. He die-ed." (not exaggerating the syllables, folks)

Jenny: "Then what happened?"
Ben: "Two Marys came to see him. But he wasn't there."

Duh, people.
