Come see what Daddy did!!!

We're hosting our first ever Pumpkin Patch at Calvary. Last Saturday, around nine hundred pumpkins arrived on campus. The unloading and arranging was a big chore, but once they were out, they looked great.

Now our work centers around keeping the inventory arranged and removing the pumpkins with bad spots or bruises.

Benjamin has been our resident mascot, up there every day to smile at people and play for a while.

Take a look at some of his pumpkin adventures. (How great is his little sweater...we found it at the Strasburg factory store in Destin this summer)

This is it, Mommy, I want THIS ONE!

One of our favorite times...

Well, I guess this is a much more positive post than what I wrote last week.

The weather is changing, the leaves are changing, and fall has finally arrived.

Benjamin turned seven months last Sunday, and he's changing in front of our eyes. This weekend is his dedication at church. He has a new outfit with scarecrows for the event.

Tonight is Tiger Tunes at Ouachita. This will be the first time we've been back since the fall of 2002. We're looking forward to seeing the campus, being back in Arkadelphia for a few hours, and watching the show.

Tomorrow will be a huge day. We have our pumpkins arriving on campus at work, and will be selling them from Monday until Halloween.

We have some friends who work for Family Life and send out a monthly newsletter, usually with a top ten list of things to do that month. Here's a list of our favorite things to do this fall...maybe you can try out one or more of them and enjoy this beautiful time of year.

1. Throw some rotel in the crock pot and watch a Razorback game

2. Go for pancakes at Satellite Cafe

3. Rake/mulch the yard (sorry, I just love the look of our yard with no leaves)

4. Plant mums and place a few pumpkins on your front steps

5. Walk to Starbucks (if you don't live near one, drive to a neighborhood with a Starbucks, park a mile away, and walk there and back)

6. Watch You've Got Mail. The movie goes from fall to spring, but it's a favorite of ours in the autumn

7. Drive across the River Bridge from Maumelle to Little Rock at least once a week to notice the changing trees

8. Open your windows

9. Make pumpkin bread (email us if you need the recipe...it's perfect)

10. Dress Benjamin in cords, plaids, and his denim jacket and watch people in public make a B-Line for him

Happy Fall, Y'all!

Recent Activities

Well, what can I say? The little guy just loves a bath. He splishes, he splashes, he throws things. All in all, it's a great fifteen minutes of bubbles, rubber ducks, and rubber hippos.

His Hippo, his absolute favorite tub toy.

My brother came down on Thursday night. He is playing in the Arkansas open next week, so he came down with my niece, Abby, to play a couple of rounds and get a lay of the land on the course.

Friday, after he and I had played golf, we all went to the zoo. John decided to get us a family pass for the zoo, so we all went for the afternoon.

Ben, Jenny, and me halfway through the zoo.

Jenny and Abby strolling along with Ben.

Killin time waiting for the Over the Jumps carousel to start up.

Apparently, waiting on a carousel to open makes us both itch on our chins.

Ben was great the entire day...didn't fuss, didn't cry. Just enjoyed the zoo.

I love his hands here. He looks like he's explaining something to us.

And the carousel finally opened, and Abby got to experience Over the Jumps...the same carousel her Aunt La La (Jenny) and her Grammy rode when they were little.

Sometimes, You Just Have to Let the Pictures Speak.

Sheer Genius

No, this isn't a commentary on Bravo's award-winning reality show about hairdressers - mostly homosexual hairdressers, that is; however, it is an invitation to check out the website of one of our dearest couple friends. Jerod is the media and production guy at Preston Trail Community Church in Frisco.

The church is amazing.

Jerod is amazing.

Jenn is amazing.

Check them out, and watch some of his video productions.

He's gifted. Truly gifted.
