First Field Trip

We headed out to BoBrook Farms yesterday for Ben's first field trip.  We all had a blast, and the weather was perfect!

We started the day with a hayride.

Then headed over to the farm animals. They are feeding the goats chips. ;)

I have never heard a pig squeal like this one did when the farmer lifted her over the fence. Bless her. She was not feeling it. At. All.

Ben wasn't quite sure what to think either.

Then for a little fun and play in some hay and corn.

Overall we had a great time!

Tallulah

I've always wanted a basset hound and yesterday it happened. Todd traveled to Tennessee to pick her up. The boys had no idea. I was about to burst with excitement all day waiting for him to come home with her. He kept sending me pictures, and it was everything I could do to contain myself.

The boys were so surprised! Ben calls her a "basket hound" and Luke says "basset town." It was love at first sight.

Long ears.
Wrinkly face.
Short fat little feet.
Sharp teeth.
Freckles.
Puppy breath.
Cuddly.
Soft.
Howling loud voice.
Perfect.

She is 100% basset. She falls over when she walks, and sometimes steps on her own ears.

And her name is Tallulah. She is 6 weeks old today. She is smart and lazy and playful, but most of the time she does this.

She howls when she needs to go outside. So far no accidents.

She slept most of the night last night in her kennel curled up in a blanket under a heating pad. Yes, she is already rotten.

She has met Bailey. They are not quite sure about each other yet, but I know they will eventually be the best of buds.

I can't wait to watch her grow up with the boys. We are all in love with this sweet precious puppy! Welcome to the family sweet girl.

Fun Run

We had the boosterthon Fun Run today at school which brought back memories of the jog-a-thon from when I was little. I remember my poor dad having to drag me around and eventually carry me on his shoulders to finish it. Thankfully, parents don't have to run with the kids anymore. This momma would have been in trouble! :)

Ben has been pumped up about this for over a month. He loves running, and he couldn't wait to run for his school.

The theme this year is Camp High Five. He has been under the impression that he's going to camp, and I didn't have the heart to tell him that it's just a theme. ;)

Ben is in his fun run shirt ready to go, and Luke is ready to cheer big brother on.

Please excuse the bluriness of the pictures. Of course, the big camera would not work once I got there. So the iPhone had to do.

Warming up

Taking off (Obviously not thrilled to have to walk the first lap:)

Luke was mesmerized by the whole thing. He enjoyed watching everyone run while snacking on teddy grahams. He is still talking about the "man with crazy hair who yelled in the microphone." Ha!

He finished all 35 laps and was one of the first to finish. I'm so proud of him!

Thank you to everyone who sponsored him! You made him feel so special!

Pumpkin Patch

We take a trip to the pumpkin patch with our friends from church every year. It seems like each year has crazy weather. Last year was freezing, raining, and lightening. This year was warm, humid, and rainy. A little rain didn't stop us. The boys have been talking about going to the pumpkin patch all week so we were going no matter what.

Before the rain hit, I was able to capture this sweet picture of the boys.

Before the rain, the boys played on the swings and slides.

They loved all the farm animals!

Next up was the hay ride. Of course as soon as we take off, the rain starts. I'm not talking about some sprinkles. I'm talking a downpour!

Ben is looking for the perfect pumpkin.

Luke wasn't too sure...

Silly boys won't be still for a pic in the pumpkins. Of course.

Little ham.

Pumpkin picking time!

Heave...Ho...

Ya think we got enough?! Don't worry most of these were for church. :)

Even though we left drenched and covered in mud, we still had a blast! Fall is my favorite time of year! Now for the rain to stop so I can decorate my porch with my new pumpkins! :)
