Feet, Tummy Time, and the Highchair

Well, not only are we loving our cereal, we love carrots, too. With all the new foods, Ben has begun to sit in his high chair like a big boy.

Enjoy the pics. Too tired to comment much!

The cereal goes in, comes out, fingers go in. Slurp, spit, repeat.

Guess this is a Slit...slurp/spit combo.

I love my toes!

And I love looking at my mom!
But Dad's pretty fun to look at, too.

Growing like a weed. This Wednesday evening we leave for Florida for his first encounter with the beach.

REAL FOOD!!!

Okay, so the first four months have gone by entirely too fast. Benjamin turned 4 months on Saturday. While I was away at camp with my 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, he had his 4 month checkup with our pediatrician, who started him on rice cereal. Of course, Jenny waited until I returned home so I could be there for his first meal.

He had no hesitation whatsoever. Tonight, before we fed him his first big boy meal, Jenny and I went to dinner at Macaroni Grill. Ben was a little fussy so I held him while I ate. He all but reached out for my pasta on more than one occasion. He was completely ready for a change of pace.

Thankfully Jenny's friend Sarah had given us some
vinyl bibs.

A little dribblage...

On another note, he had a really good checkup at the pediatrician's office. He is in the 80th percentile on height and weight, which is good to know because he seems really big. At least he's not breaking any sort of records.

His head circumference is in the 70th percentile. Poor little guy just hasn't had much speed there. I think he was at the 30th at birth, the 50th at 2 months, and now he's up to 70.

She also told Jenny that he is very "personable..."

Well, DUH. Have you met his Daddy? Because his Daddy has never met a stranger. Nor have either of his grandfathers, his uncle John, or his great-grandfather PoppyB.

He joins quite a heritage of breeze shooters.

Visit from Zack and Katie

Jenny's best friend Katie came by on Thursday, and apparently a good time was had by all. She arrived somewhere around noon - at which time Jenny prepared a lunch for her (hmmh...she never has a meal out for me if I come home at lunch...).

I guess it is safe to say they enjoyed their visit because they were still visiting when I came home from work at 5 to see this...

Can you believe these two little stinkers are
four months apart?

Baby Mozart...it's like crack for babies...

Zack giving his little buddy a pat on the back.

In all honesty, Jason and I are lucky boys...
Two incredible wives...two amazing sons.
And I think Ben likes Zack's crocs...

And, seriously.  This has nothing to do with this post,
but holy cow, how cute is my son???

eBay, Anyone?

So, I'm not terribly interested in eBay...buying someone else's crap just doesn't seem to peak my interest.

However...it's a little different when people are interested in YOUR  stuff, and are willing to pay a price for it.

A couple of years ago, I broke (or so I thought) the flip-back door on the center pocket of my Accord (can we say MISS that car now that gas is 4.00?) So I decided not to pay the Honda dealership 250.00 to replace it, and purchase one from an individual on eBay. When I removed it, I realized that it was able to be fixed with ease, so I had an extra center pocket.

This past spring I re-sold the center pocket, along with several odd pieces of Sterling that we received for wedding presents. We'll never complete the sets. My grandmother has a set I can inherit should we decide to. My mother has a set that she would probably give me rather than have to polish. So, I made about 400.00 on the Silver pieces and the Center Pocket.

Now I'm back at it. We're selling our bed...bought it at Bombay in the fall and have just never really liked it; our treadmill...bought it 2 years ago and - shockingly - never use it; and our living room rug...a massive Oriental piece my parents bought and didn't want.

All of these items are large and are listed as Local Pickup Only. However...not everyone reads all the information, nor do they follow directions. I have responded to several emails on the bed and the treadmill, all asking if we ship to Canada. HELLO...Can you imagine the cost to ship a full-sized treadmill to Toronto? Or an iron bed to Halifax?

Why don't people read things all of the way through?

New Jeep

Well, I've been wanting a Jeep Wrangler since we got back to Arkansas...with the Fall and Spring Weather, I think it would be a lot of fun to have one.

Last week, I bought a Jeep. Although I'm not going to be able to enjoy the beauty of the Natural State from inside it, another little Bunch guy is sure to love it.

Complete with speakers and iPod dock for his listening enjoyment, I purchased Benjamin a Jeep Liberty Limited Urban Terrain Jogging Stroller. Bumps and pot-holes be danged...the suspension on this thing keeps him riding in total comfort.

Pic from Jeep.com...ours is green and black.

He has a steering wheel with horn and gear shift
for when he can sit up.

Well, he was awake when we left...

Happy as a clam...

Daddy bought me a Jeep!

Fourth Family Fun

Well, after surviving VBS, and already being off on Thursday for the Fourth Holiday, I took off early on Wednesday and we headed to Jonesboro.

We did the normal stuff with our parents...had several meals with our extended family, and in general lounged around. Thursday we went to my parent's pool for a while to let Ben float. The little guy loved it. The neighborhood pool never seems to warm up, but that doesn't bother him. We stayed in the water for about 45 minutes and then he was ready to fall out. I regret not taking the camera, but we have issues with technology near water...Anyway, just imagine the cutest little chunky-faced red head floating in a blow-up crab, and that's what we looked like.

Friday, Ben played around with his cousin Abby, went to two Family 4th Meals, and then experienced his first Fourth of July Fireworks show.

Ben didn't take his eyes off the show all night.

Our First Family 4th of July Snapshot

Hope you all enjoyed your holiday as much as we did.
