Registry Madness

Well, we spent the majority of yesterday registering for baby goods....bottles, towels, onesies, crib sheets, etc. etc. etc. We have no idea what we are getting into! Jenny's sister Holly (henceforth known as Aunt Bee - she collects bumble bees...what else would we call her?) went with us, and thanks to her current nanny gigs had some recommendations on which type of bottles, which swing, etc, which came in quite handy because we hadn't really researched any of it.
We registered at five different stores, because we're just that crazy. We had been waiting to decide on a stroller and car seat because the brand we like was coming out with a new line for 2008. These pictures are the one we decided on.
Aunt Bee, Mommy, and Daddy were all completely worn out by the end of the day, and our last stop basically entailed telling the workers in the store that if it's cute, we'll take it. The first baby shower is coming up soon.

No Placenta Problems - December 21, 2007

Well, we had our second (and thankfully, final) appointment with the high risk OB on Friday, and he was able to completely rule out placenta previa and vasa previa, which was a relief. No recommendations for an early induction or c-section, so we're hoping to make it full term and progress through this thing normally. He did measure Benjamin's weight at 3 pounds 1 ounce, and measured his feet at 2.5 inches long, each. We're not sure what to make of all of that...it sounds big but maybe the feet are finished growing for now.

Sounds of the Season - December 13-15

Well, the annual traditon of symphony and shopping in Dallas continued for the fourth year in a row, bringing our attendance up to 5 total years since graduating college. This was our last year to go without having to arrange a grandparent or two to watch Benjamin, so we made the most of our time away from Little Rock. We headed out on Thursday, spent the night with "Auntie" Rebecca in Ft. Worth, then visited "Cousin" Baby NJ Doss in Plano. Shopping began that afternoon, although not much was purchased (see "Benjamin's New Ride for explanation of financial depletion). Had dinner at Pappadeaux with "Auntie" Laura and "Uncle" Brad Grundy. The Symphony was terrific, as usual. Benjamin kicked throughout much of the performance, proving that he has inherited not only his Daddy's weird toes (see Ultrasound Pics) but his love for classical and choral music as well.
Mommy and Benjamin slept comfortably overlooking the Dallas Skyline at our favorite hotel, and pigged out on the full breakfast buffet the following morning. Growing baby still created a monster appetite for Mommy-to-be, and Daddy had to keep the car stocked with chocolate treats and French Fries on the journey back to Arkansas.

Benjamin's New Ride - December 12

Well, at the risk of further damage to the environment and the depletion of our finances due to the rising costs of fuel, we are now a 2-SUV household. With Todd being so tall and the Honda being so low to the ground, we have purchased a new ride to cart Benjamin around town in beginning in a few weeks. Jenny has to name all of the vehicles, so Snowflake replaces Andy the Accord and joins Elsie the Expedition in the Bunch driveway.

Day One

Hello friends! Stay tuned as Jenny and I (both new to blogging) begin to share in our journey into parenthood, with details and tidbits from our daily life along the way. We're 10 weeks until D-Day! Hope you enjoy it...
